The Wedding of Kyle & Natalie

On October 11, 2008, my alarm went off at 7:00 am. I showered and gathered all of my belongings for the day and my luggage for the honeymoon. My mom, Barb, picked me up at 9:00 and we headed to POSH International to get our hair done. Following our up-do’s, we made our way over to Solaris Aveda for makeup. It was so nice to be pampered!!! From Aveda, we drove downtown to Casino Aztar, where both my wedding and reception would take place. There, we met up with my bridesmaids and close family members. The boys ate sandwiches and watched football, and the girls snacked on fruit and put on their dresses and makeup. I do not believe there was one moment when any of us were sitting around twiddling our thumbs. We talked and laughed and took silly pictures the entire time!!! Once my photographer arrived, we began taking all the formal pictures and before I knew it…I was walking down the aisle!!!

Wow! I’m not sure I had one favorite moment. The entire day was very surreal. If I had to pick one moment though, I would say it was walking down the aisle. It felt so good to see me future husband standing, waiting for me to meet him! It was magical!!
We did not have any rocky moments or close calls. Everything went better than we had planned!!

The only thing that I would change, and I’m not sure I would even change it, would be where I bought my dress. I bought my dress and bridesmaids’ dresses in Owensboro, KY at Abbingtons. When I purchased everything, I figured it would not be a big deal driving an hour on a few different occasions for fittings. I was wrong. It became a nuisance. I felt obligated to go with my bridesmaids for their fittings as well and my weekends quickly filled up with Abbingtons fittings!!! I think buying your wedding dress out of town is a good idea because you find things that are one-of-a-kind, but I would seriously consider having someone in your hometown alter it!!!!!!
Everyone kept telling me to “take it all in,” to “not miss a moment!” I think I would pass that same advice on to other brides. I have heard from many brides and their families that they do not remember anything from their wedding day…that it was a blur. I was determined to not be one of those brides!!! Cherish every moment because your wedding day will be gone with the blink of your fake eyelashes!!!!! Hahahaha!
