The Wedding of Brad & Amber

In your own words describe the events of your day.

The Events in my wedding started with all the girls getting up early to get or hair done. The hair dressers were there at 7:30 to start. I was first to get mine done and after that I got to get me makeup done by a friend, Linda Mand, who also sells Mary Kay. After that I was all done until we arrived at the church. I was able to sit and watch the other girls get ready. My brother and dad were also getting ready who I was helping put on there ties and vest. The photographer Stacy was there the entire morning with us getting ready. When we were all ready we left for the church. When arriving there the girls put there dresses on and I was last. The guys were to be there at 11:30 for pictures, and they arrived at 11:45. After all of us were ready we started pictures, Brad and I got to see each other, but with no one around. Just me, brad, and the photographer. Not to long after, the ceremony started, that's when I started to get nervous. Everyone was looking at me. When I got up to Brad I started to fill better. We said our vows, exchanged rings, and father pronounced us husband and wife. Then the reception began. That was the relaxing part of the whole day. We cut cake when we first got there and then started talking with the people who came. After the meal we started dancing. But first it was the toast. Brad's Best man, Jeff Ausenbaugh, gave the speech. It was good, but then became funny when he called me by my best friends name, who was sitting right next to me. We still give him crap for that. The first song was "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton; this has been our song for seven years. Then my dad and I danced, to I loved her first. Then everyone started dancing the night away. I was the best evening ever.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?

I had two favorite parts. The first was most of the bridesmaids stayed the night with me at my parents; we made pallets on the floor. Then my mom had two hair dressers come to the house to do our hair. The second would be the reception. A lot of people came to share the day with us and it was great. We got to party all night till the DJ stopped playing.

Were there any rocky moments or close calls?

The only rocky moment was when the cake showed up. We thought she would be decorating the whole table with the table skirt and all. But what was meant she would decorate the top of the table. So, Cindy had to go out right before the wedding and bought a table skirt and finish decorating. But the cake was beautiful.

Is there anything you would have changed?

The only thing I would have changed would be the next day, on Sunday. Our flight for our honeymoon left at 11 a.m. from Nashville. So we had to get up at 6 a.m. to travel to Nashville. We didn't get to bed that morning until 2 a.m. Very long and tiring day.

What advice would you give to other brides that you may have learned in the process of getting married?

The thing that I was told when first starting to plan was to start early and I did. Start early in getting prepared with everything. There are only a few things that have to wait, but it will relieve a lot of stress in the end. Also, that day don't forget to breathe. Take a look around and remember what is happening around you. The day flies by and soon it will be over.
